Activity:
This week the children made crowns using various natural materials found around the site. They collected a variety of materials including: flowers; leaves; wool; grass and feathers and then weaved or fashioned them into a crown. This activity continued on from last weeks theme of stick frame weaving.
We talked about who wears a crown, why, what they are made of, traditions and family celebrations.
Home Activity:
Go online with your child and look up different styles of crowns from different countries. Try to engage them by talking about colour, style and materials along with the different shapes and patterns.
