On Saturday 18th September we entered a crack team from The Woodland Nursery into the gruelling Tough Mudder event to raise money and awareness for our two chosen charities.
What is Tough Mudder? A 5k series of obstacles and mud runs that pushed our physical and mental limits! We put ourselves through the following challenges:- crawled through around a mile of mud; overcame a climbing wall as tall as a house; clambered over a near 3 story tall scramble net; crawled under barbed wire; got stuck climbing over mud hills and through muddy water pits; found our way through an obstacle course with rope nets tightly above us and run 'The Gauntlet' (see website for this one) amongst various other challenges (13 in total). Please see https://toughmudder.co.uk/ for more info.
Who was in our team? We were the 'Woodland Wonders' comprising:- Tracy, Keith, Sahra, Marta, Andreea and Sophy.
Which charities are we supporting?
Macintyre provides support to children, young people and adults with a learning disability and/or autism - https://www.macintyrecharity.org/
Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice provides care and support to people with terminal illnesses, their carers, families and friends - https://www.communityhospice.org.uk/
(proceeds to be split 50/50)
